Driver dies in Uitvlugt accident

An accident involving motor vehicle GPWW 9100 occurred at about 03:15hrs Thursday, killing the driver.

The driver has not yet been identified.

Power company officials Thursday morning work to replace one of the broken lamp posts

Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean, told the News Room that the driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident occurred on the Uitvlugt Public Road, West Coast Demerara.

The car crashed into this fence after it crashed past two lamp posts

Commander McBean said the driver was evidently speeding when the driver lost control on the southern carriageway slamming into two lamp posts and then into a fence.
