70 new cases take COVID-19 total to 846

As of August 20, 2020, Guyana surpassed over 800 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a record number of daily cases, 70. There are eight persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 18 more persons have recovered bringing the total number to 399.

Region Four have recorded the highest number of cases thus far with 248, this is followed by Region Seven with 174, Region Nine with 169 and Region One with 124. New cases were also reported in Regions Three, Eight and Ten.

There are 333 persons who are isolated at home, 77 in institutional isolation and 47 in institutional quarantine.
An additional 205 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Total number of tests done to date are 6, 502.

    Everybody with something smart to say…..BUT have any of you ever tried a duncy rigging at the same time as fighting an unknown pandemic.? And lord knows if the pandemic fight was as duncy as the rig…..its no wonder we are having a huge uptick in cases.
