Police are investigating the murder of 23-year-old Keith Andrew Willis, a father of one, whose bloodied body was found on the roadway not far from his Lot 374 Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara house Monday morning.
His distraught mother, Seema Sookra, told reporters that she last saw her son alive at around 16:30h on Sunday when he left to visit the mother of his two-year-old daughter who lives in the community.
The mother said Willis did not return home Sunday night, which was unusual. When she woke up Monday morning, three men visited her house just before 06:00h and revealed that her son’s body was lying on the road.
Her younger son, Yanick Willis decided to visit the scene and his worst fears were confirmed. Willis said he saw stab wounds on his brother’s neck and back.
“Everyone knows he is a very quiet, decent child. Really helpful. Peaceful, he don’t interfere with nobody,” his mother said through tears.
She said her son was a mason, painter and a mechanic.
His younger brother, Yanick, also described him as a “loving and caring individual.”
“He was never a bad guy, people around the village can tell you duh. I am loss for words,” the brother said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
