Cummings Lodge minibus feared drowned after disappearing at Linden blue lake

A search is ongoing for a Cummings Lodge, East Coast of Demerara (ECD) minibus driver who is feared to have drowned in a blue lake at Mackenzie, Linden.

Feared dead is Eusi Lindo of Tenth Street, Cummings Lodge, Georgetown.

According to the police, Lindo and his girlfriend, along with about 10 friends, travelled to Linden in a minibus where they ventured to the lake on Thursday afternoon.

Lindo and his girlfriend were reportedly deep in the water during which he went under and never resurfaced.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:30h. The girlfriend said the water was shoulder height when Lindo started experiencing difficulties. She said he tried to hold onto her hand and they both went under but she managed to pull herself up.

The young lady said she heard a splashing sound and saw his hand as he went under.

Police were summoned to the location and have conducted a search of the area but were unsuccessful in locating the man.

Meanwhile, investigators have since questioned his girlfriend and friends as the search continues.
