Come February 2022, Guyana’s vast petroleum and energy prospects will be showcased when the International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana kicks off.

Anticipated to be the premier annual meeting of local, regional, and international experts in Guyana, the main organisers – International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana – intends for the conference to be a staple in the country’s calendar of events.

Angenie Abel, CEO of International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana, told the News Room on Friday that “the boom in Guyana’s oil industry has created a unique opportunity for the country’s economic development and with the developments in the energy sector, the country is poised to become one the fastest growing economies in the world.”

With that in mind, Abel posited that having the Energy Conference at the height of this development will allow for businesses to be presented with the unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the market.

The conference is expected to attract senior executives and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) from major international oil and gas companies, local and international government officials, procurement personnel from oil and gas companies, and academia. A location has not yet been confirmed for the conference.

The participating companies will be given the opportunity to share industry trends and also announce future projects. Presentations will be done to highlight upcoming business and investment opportunities as well.

“The event will provide valuable networking opportunities for delegates birthing new business ventures,” the CEO added.

Also, the conference is expected to feature a Trade Show aspect to showcase local, regional and international exhibitors.
