Salesman, mechanic remanded for possession of stolen car

Two men were remanded to prison on Tuesday last for the offence of receiving stolen property in the form of a Toyota Fielder Wagon.

The wagon belongs to Tyrone Pires, a 44-year-old taxi driver of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.

Leon Lewis, a 30-year-old salesman of Lamaha Springs, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, and Ravin Singh, 24, a mechanic of Montrose, ECD appeared before Magistrate A. George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.

The duo pleaded not guilty were remanded to prison until February 21, 2022, according to the Guyana Police Force.

The News Room understands that the men were arrested on January 17 by the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU).
