Police in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of 27-year-old gold miner, Noel Anthony Fredricks.
Fredricks of Mainstay Village, Region Two, was working at a mining camp located at Toroparu Backdam in the Lower Puruni River when he went missing.
Police Headquarters reported that the young man is of Amerindian descent, he is medium built and fair in complexion with long black hair.
Fredricks reportedly left his camp on April 14 at about 17:30hrs; he was last seen alive in the company of a 29-year-old man at about 03:00hrs on April 15. The two men left a shop in an intoxicated state.
Police said Fredricks was last seen wearing a blue jeans and a white top.
Ranks from the division’s investigations unit have since been dispatched to the area to investigate.
