Labourer, 27, dies two weeks after shooting in Sophia

Two weeks after he was shot during an argument in North Sophia, Greater Georgetown, Yardan Jacobs, 27, succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Tuesday.

Jacobs, a labourer, died at about 17:00hrs; he was shot to his lower right side back.

Jacobs and his 29-year-old cousin, Steve Bacchus were liming with some friends at the Tanary Area in North Sophia when Jacobs got into an argument with an identifiable male.

The incident occurred just after midnight on April 16.

Police Headquarters reported that Bacchus reportedly intervened during the argument when the suspect discharged several rounds in the direction of the men.

Bacchus received a gunshot wound to his upper right side abdomen.

Police ranks on patrol duty responded and took Jacobs to the hospital while public-spirited citizens rushed Bacchus there as well.
