Relatives and friends are mourning the death of Nareshwar Arjune, known as Ryan, a 26-year-old rice farmer and welder of Quakers Hall, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD) who died in an accident Thursday morning at Bushy Park, Mahaicony Public Road.

The News Room understands that Arjune was driving his Nissan Laurel (PCC 5219) when another vehicle “clipped” him from behind and caused him to crash into another car that was heading in the opposite direction.

Reports indicate that the driver and passenger of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Arjune’s father, Seepersaud Arjune, 58, told the News Room that his son left home between 07:30hrs and 08:00hrs to make a pickup a short distance away.

At 08:30hrs, they received a telephone call that he was in an accident; when the family arrived at the scene, the young Arjune was already transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Seepersaud described the loss as a great one since his son was “my hand and foot and still my baby.”

The distraught man said his son was a helpful and jovial person who provided for the family.
