The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) today, in an effort to boost youth attendance at football matches, launched their ‘Youth Ticket Initiative’ at the Sophia Special School..
President of the GFF Wayne Forde, told the gathering of students and representatives from the Ministry of Education, that his Federation took an executive decision, which will see children 12 years and under being admitted free at all football matches, and up to 17-years-old will pay more than $500.
A directive, Forde said, will be sent to its members and affiliates, detailing the Executive Committee’s decision.
With Guyana set to begin their 2016/2017 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup campaign against Anguilla at the Guyana National Stadium, the GFF also presented a quantity of tickets to the students of the Sophia Special School and the top eight schools from Petra Organisation/Milo Football Tournament to attend the March 22 event.
