Police ranks yesterday (Thursday March 17) discovered 3 kilograms of marijuana, after a search was conducted on the baggage of a man at the 70Km Checkpoint, Essequibo.
He has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Meanwhile, police are reporting that ranks on foot patrol along the Guyana/Brazil Bridge at Takatu, Lethem, observed a man running away, after throwing away a bag as they approached.
After retrieving the bag it was found to contain 1 kilogram 600 grams of marijuana.
