BREAKING NEWS: Former robbery accused executed;night club employee in custody

Oriley Small, 31 years old of Smyth Street, Georgetown was shot dead execution style in a passageway leading to his home at approximately 03.30hrs this morning.

According to information reaching News Room, Small had just returned from the Fish Shop on Hadfield Street and was getting ready to enter his yard when a lone gunman pounced on him and shot him multiple times.

It was related that just before the shooting, persons heard someone calling for “inside.”

Meanwhile, the police have already taken into custody a suspect for the murder. According to the details which News Room received, one Marry Prince called “Max” 30 years old of Lot 16 ‘A’ Public Road Ruimveldt is being held for questioning.

“Max” who works at the Rio Night Club as Security and is licensed to carry a company firearm, was picked up shortly after the shooting following information the police received.

Oriley Small was shot several years ago while attending a Guinness Greatness in the Streets football Match at the National Cultural Center, in that incident a woman from Melanie East Coast Demerara was also shot.

At the time he was said to be the intended target and there were also reports that he returned fire, after an argument broke out. Small was also charged in connection with several other matters including armed robberies.
