Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman today revealed that the administration could be moving in the direction of acquiring a fleet of aircraft to be used for Government business.

Minister Trotman who was speaking at this week’s Post Cabinet media briefing said that a senior officer within the Ministry of Finance had introduced the idea during the planning stages of budget 2016.

According to the Minister, the Finance official promised to investigate whether acquiring and maintaining a fleet makes sense while noting the frequency of travel by several ministers to various parts of the country for work and the high cost of charters.

However, the Natural Resources Minister was quick to point out that at the moment nothing is before Cabinet but nothing is being ruled out.
