Republic Bank will host “Light it up Blue” autism awareness walk on April 2

Republic Bank’s “Light it up Blue” Autism Awareness walk will be held on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 7:00hrs.

Assembly point is Promenade Gardens at 6:40hrs. The route is West along Middle Street, South into Main Street, East into Church Street, North into East Street, West into Middle Street to Promenade Gardens.

First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, Minister of Education and other officials from the Step by Step Foundation and Republic Bank.

The Bank said part of the proceeds from the sale of T-shirts will go towards the Step by Step Foundation.

The eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2016. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events.

This year #LIUB is being used to share experiences across social media and help light the world up blue this April.

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder that involves abnormal development and function of the brain. People with autism show decreased social communication skills and restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviours or interests.
