UK Parliamentarian pays courtesy call on President

President David Granger, yesterday (March 31) received a courtesy call from David Lammy, a parliamentarian from the United Kingdom (UK), who is currently in Guyana with a delegation from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) to engage local Members of Parliament (MPs) at a Post Elections Seminar.

Lammy, who is a Guyanese by birth, in a brief comment said he has been visiting Guyana for the last two decades and has met with every sitting President since the late President Forbes Burnham.

He expressed willingness to work closely with the newly appointed High Commissioner to the UK, Hamsley Case to advance Guyana’s interest.

Lammy has been serving as a Member of Parliament in the UK for the past 16 years, having been re-elected in May 2015.
