President to deliver feature presentation at UWI’s Institute of Int’l Relations

President David Granger is traveling to Trinidad and Tobago today (April 8) to deliver the feature presentation at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Institute of International Relations of the University of the West Indies at the St. Augustine University Inn and Conference Centre.

 

A release from the Ministry of the Presidency said the President, who is a graduate of the Institute, was invited to deliver the feature address by the Principal of the University and will focus on the security of small states in the Caribbean, during his presentation.

 

He will return to Guyana tomorrow April 9, 2016.

 

Guyanese Dr. Mark Kirton is presently is the Interim Director of the Institute. His appointment took effect on January 1, 2016.

 

Over the years a number of Guyanese have graduated from the institute, including Rear Admiral (Rt’d) Gary Best and former President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Clinton Urling.
