58 Y-O man loses life after being shot during home invasion; wife hospitalized

Fifty-eight year old Gowchand Budhu lost his life last night (April 10) after armed men entered his home and assaulted his wife.

According to a Police Press Release, around 20:50hrs, Parbatie Budhu, 54 years, of Albion, Corentyne, was about to enter her home when she was confronted by two armed men.

The men took her into the house and began assaulting her, during which her husband Gowchand Budhu, intervened and was shot to his body, however, the perpetrators escaped.

Gowchand Budhu was pronounced Dead on Arrival at the Port Mourant Hospital, while his wife has been admitted.

Investigations are in progress.
