The police early this morning arrested a man in connection with the murder of Mehendra Persaud, the 26 year old businessman who was killed during a robbery attempt on Tuesday.
News Room has been informed that the suspect, who was identified as Travis Alexander was picked up this morning at approximately 03:05hrs. He is said to be 26 years old and unemployed.
Police sources said the man is known to them and was arrested after CCTV footage from several businesses along the Church Street area were reviewed.
The businessman was killed after shots were opened in his direction, as he left a city bank where he had earlier withdrew cash to conduct business in the city.
The police are still looking for another man in relation to the matter and have expressed confidence in finding the man and bringing him to justice.
