BREAKING NEWS: Mother killed in road accident while searching for missing son

A woman was earlier this evening killed in a road accident on Mandela Avenue, while she and her child’s father were looking for their son, who was taken from their home by another relative without their knowledge.



The now dead woman, whose name was given as Shauna Rice, was the pillion rider on a motorcycle that was struck by a vehicle, reportedly driven by a member of the Guyana Defense Force.



According to information reaching News Room the woman after learning that her son was taken from the home, spent most of the afternoon in search of  him.


She was reportedly heading to a relative or the police station when the speeding car slammed into the motorcycle.



The driver of the car is in custody, while the rider of the motorcycle, whose name was given as 32 year old Steve Fiedtkou aka ‘Stevie’ is said to be in a serious condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
