The Ministry of Social Protection today launched its jubilee edition of educational materials and novelties, as it seeks to educate the population about Trafficking In Persons with the aim of preventing, reducing and eliminating the scourge.
The key messages are aimed at increasing awareness about how to counter Trafficking in Persons and encourage people to report all suspected cases.
So far for 2016 there have been 13 cases of alleged Trafficking in Persons reported to the Ministry. While the matters are investigated by the Guyana Police Force, the Ministry provides support for the alleged victims.
