53 year old man dies after being struck by motor car at Triumph
Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred around 19:00hrs on Thursday June 16, 2016, on Triumph Railway Embankment, ECD and which resulted in the death of a pedestrian Seenauth Persaud, 53 years, of Suraj Drive, Triumph, ECD.
Investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PKK 2320 was proceeding west along the southern side of the road, when the pedestrian allegedly crossed the road from south to north into the path of the vehicle and fell on the roadway.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he died while receiving medical treatment.
The body is at the GPHC Mortuary awaiting a post mortem.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
