West Indies beat South Africa to reach Tri Series final against Australia

The West Indies have set up a Tri-Series decider with Australia after convincingly beating South Africa in Bridgetown, Barbados. South Africa’s batting failed it as it was dismissed for 185 in a 100-run loss.

The hosts came back from the dead when, at 4 for 21, Darren Bravo (102) and Kieron Pollard (62) combined for a 156-run partnership for the fifth wicket, as the West Indies eventually tallied 285 all out.

A deflated Proteas outfit then fell apart as Shannon Gabriel (3 for 17) and Sunil Narine (3 for 28) mowed through South Africa’s line-up.

Such was the paucity of South Africa’s batting that its 10th-wicket pairing of Morne Morkel (32 not out) and Imran Tahir (29) provided its highest partnership of 51 runs.

The West Indies will now face Australia in the triangular tournament’s final in Barbados on Monday.
