BREAKING NEWS: Bandits escape with 1.5 million from GuySuCo staff

Bandits this afternoon snatched approximately 1.5 million Guyana dollars belonging to the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) which represented the company’s payroll.
The robbery took place at around 18:30hrs while the money was bring escorted by a lone female security guard.
It was reported that a car locked the path of the GuySuCo pickup, PJJ 302.
The bandits then advanced towards the vehicle and relieved the security guard of a 9mm pistol and the Accounts department staff of the bag containing the cash.
The men then left with the vehicle and later abandoned it on Cemetery Road in Georgetown.
No one was injured.
