The file pertaining to the murder of Courtney Crum-Ewing is now back at the office of the Crime Chief and advice has been given for the police to conduct additional investigations.

Immediately after the gunning down of Crum-Ewing in 2015, there were suggestions that his execution was politically motivated.
Former President Donald Ramotar is on record calling on the Guyana Police Force to leave no stone unturned in the hunt for the perpetrators.
Earlier this year when the police began to pick up steam, several persons including former Information Liaison to the Office of the President, Kwame McCoy were arrested for questioning.
Crum-Ewing was gunned down in 2015 in Diamond, East Bank Demerara when he was advocating for persons to vote at the May 11 elections with the use of a bull horn.
Prior to his death, he led a one man protest in front of the Office of the Minister of Legal Affairs, at the time, Anil Nandlall calling for his resignation after a conversation surfaced between the then Minister and a journalist, where he was heard making what were deemed unethical requests of the male reporter.
