The main suspect who may be holding all the answers to the motive behind the grenade attack on Kaieteur News last month has fled the jurisdiction.

Today Crime chief Wendell Blanhum told the press that this is the information the police have received, however, they continue to hunt for the man in known places locally.

Although the Crime Chief did not state which country the man fled to, the News Room managed to obtain information that he may be hiding out in Suriname.

According to Blanhum, the Police Force is optimistic that the suspect would be located.

In June, occupants of a car tossed a fragmentation grenade at the vehicle of KN Publisher Glen Lall while he and other persons, including journalists were having a wake for Dale Andrews, an assistant Editor of the newspaper who passed away earlier that day.

The men were apprehended within 24 hours of tossing the grenade and the police were even advised that the persons who carried out the act may have been doing so on behalf of someone who is suspected to be very influential.

The investigations into the matter are ongoing.
