A post-mortem conducted on the remains of 19-year-old University of Guyana Student, Harris Anthony Persaud found that he died as a result of drowning.

This conclusion coincides with the story given by the two young men in whose company he was last seen.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed that the PM was done on Saturday.
However, the two friends, up to News time were still being held by the police.
The News Room has been informed that the police will look at the evidence to determine if any offence has been committed by the duo. It is already clear that the two men failed to report the incident of the drowning to the police and also attempted to hide the young man’s phone and other belongings.

They are to be charged with those offences and are likely to be granted station bail by late this afternoon.

The dead 19-year- old also worked at H. Naught and Son’s Construction Company located at Mahaica. He is said to be a resident of Cane Grove.

The police picked up his two friends 20-year- old Sarvanand Jagnarine of 409 7th Field Cummings Lodge and David Karaknarine, a 19 -year -old University of Guyana Student of 30 Line Path Skeldon ,who were staying at an apartment in Cummings Lodge.
The dead teenager reportedly frequented the apartment and on the day he went missing, the three  decided to go for a swim at the back of a city hotel and the tides overpowered Persaud, causing him to drown.
The other two young men reportedly panicked and failed to inform anyone of what transpired and instead opted to hide some of the teen’s belonging and later told his father who showed up at the apartment, that they had not seen the now dead man.

It was the landlord who confirmed that they were seen in the man’s company earlier the afternoon and that they all left in a silver vehicle.
