50-year-old man commits suicide at Linden

A 50-year-old man was last evening found hanging from the ceiling at his residence in Amelia’s Ward, Linden.

The former employee of RUSAL, Walter Layne was discovered by his eighteen-year-old son, Trevon Layne.

According to Layne’s wife Carla, she had last seen last saw her husband on Wednesday afternoon before leaving home to attend church service with her children.

Carla related that around 08:00hours she received a call from her neighbour where she was greeted with the devastating news.

Layne stated that her husband never displayed suicidal behavior.

It is however alleged that the deceased might have terminated his life as a result of a protracted illness that caused him to lose his job in March, this year.

Authorities said there were no signs of foul play, however, investigations continue as the family awaits a post mortem examination.

Layne has left to mourn his wife and four children.
