Trio remanded for Black Bush triple murder

Three persons were on Tuesday remanded by magistrate, Judy Latchman for the murder of three persons on Friday, July 22.

 

38-year-old Carlton Chaitram along with his 18-year-old son, Jairam Chaitram along with an employee, 26-year-old Tameshwar Jaikarran appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates Court 3 on Tuesday afternoon.

 

They were not required to plea to the indictable charge which read that between July 21 and 22 they murdered 33-year-old Naresh Rooplall, 37-year-old Pawan Chandradai aka Suresh and his 15-year-old son, Jaikarran Chandradai aka Kevin.

 

The trio which hailed from the Corentyne area will return to court on September 6th 2016.

 

They were not represented in court today, however, they did had the support of family members who showed up at the court.

 

The youngest of the lot who is listed as the Number one accused, is reportedly to have been the trigger man in the crime.

 

Last week Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum disclosed that the suspects told investigators that they shot the two men and the teenager after they went to another farm to steal diesel and noticed that the three persons were witnesses to the crime.

 

The bodies of Rooplall, Pawan Chandradai and his 15-year-old son, were discovered on the morning of Friday, July 22, at Kookrit Creek, savannah, Black Bush Polder; each bearing one gunshot wound.

 

The three persons had left to go fishing on Thursday afternoon, however did not make it back home.
