Police hunting for ice pick bandit and his accomplice following robbery of teens

The Police in ‘B’ Division are currently investigating a robbery in which a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old female were attacked and robbed at about 20:00 hours on Monday, August 08,2016 .

According to information received, the two teens were on their way home from the Fast Food Restaurant, Church’s at Trinity Street in New Amsterdam when they were confronted by two males on bicycles, one of whom was armed with an ice pick.

The armed suspect grabbed the male teen and placed the ice pick to his chest while demanding cash and other valuables before escaping.

According to Commander of ‘B’ Division Ian Amsterdam, the two suspects managed to escape with a cellular phone and a handbag containing an undisclosed sum of cash. He added that so far no one has been arrested but investigations are ongoing.
