The small community of Airy Hall on the Essequibo Coast was plunged into a state of mourning on Saturday August 13, 2016, after the devastating news of a teen being fished out of a canal spread.
The teen has been identified as 19-year-old Kowshal Persaud of Airy Hall Sands, who died by drowning during an outing with his friends.
Although information on the incident is still sketchy at this point, the News Room was told that the teen who recently completed his first year at the Teachers Training College left his home earlier in the day to go out with friends and never returned.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
