13-year-old killed during argument over female

The police are investigating the alleged murder of 13-year-old Daveand Sanchar which occurred about 23:30hrs on Sunday at Plantain Walk Access Road, Triumph, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

The teenager of Plantain Walk, Triumph, E.C.D. was allegedly chopped and beaten while at a function in the said village.

According to the Police, investigations revealed that while at the function, Sanchar had an altercation with some men over a female, after which he left and returned with a cutlass.

“A further argument ensued and it was alleged that one of the men took away the cutlass and dealt him (the deceased) a chop to his head. Whilst on the ground, he was given a severe beating with a stick” the police statement added.

The victim was rushed the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspects are all in custody assisting the police with the investigation.
