Man loses hand during chopping spree; two others hospitalised

Ashton Simon, 41, Jason Wilson, 30 and Carlos Mathews, 26 are currently patients at the New Amsterdam Hospital after being chopped about their bodies by several men who attacked them at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice.

 

According to information gathered, ranks of Central Police Station conducted a raid on a house at MiMi Dam Angoy’s Avenue sometime last week.

 

Following the raid, occupants of the house accused Simon who lived at Mi Mi Dam of providing information to the police which led to him relocating to Sheet Anchor, East Canje, Berbice. However, Simon and visited his Angoy’s Avenue home on Sunday at around 17:00 hrs along with Wilson and Matthews to retrieve the remainder of his belongings. Upon entering the house, they were confronted and chopped about the body by several men.

 

Simon sustained a severed hand at the wrist which was taken to the hospital in a plastic bag hours after the incident.

 

Police sources revealed that they are hunting for three suspects.
