Drug traffickers escape Police; leaving behind 6.8 Kgs of marijuana

The recent drug bust at Sandfort West Canje, Berbice was done approximately 17:30 hrs on Tuesday by the Police where two men were intercepted with 6.8 kilograms (15lbs) of marijuana.
News Room understands that the lawmen were at the time responding to another matter within the same area when the two men were noticed with a bag. It was during that time the men started to walk at a fast rate after noticing the Police.
The sudden actions of the men prompted the Police to go after them at which time they hid in nearby bushes.
However, the men managed to escape, but the Police were able to recover the bag which contained the marijuana.
