The Police in C Division are investigating an accident that occurred at about 13:00hrs on Saturday, August 20, 2016 on the Mahaicony public road.
News Room understands that two cars were travelling in the opposite direction when one collided with the over, causing one to end up in a nearby trench.
According to Traffic Chief, Dion Moore, five persons sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The Hospital has so far confirmed that a 3-year-old boy who was an occupant of one of the cars has succumbed to his injuries.
Details surrounding the accident are still sketchy.
