Ramsarran a “no show” in slap and strip case

Former Health Minister, Dr. Bheri Ramsaran was expected to make an appearance today in the Whim Magistrate Court where a decision would have been made on the case between himself and Social  Activist, Sherlina Nageer, however, a medical was presented.

The medical report, submitted to Magistrate Charlyn Artiga stated that he is suffering from Chikungunya, hence his absence.

The case was adjourned until September 19,  2016, where a decision will be made with or without him being present.

The former minister in April 2015 during a protest verbally abused Nageer.

Nageer interrupted Ramsaran while he was being interviewed by reporters. It was during this time that he was heard shouting “shut your mouth and get out of my face”.

The exchange between the two escalated to the point of Ramsaran shouting “I will slap her ass you know, just for the fun of it, I can have some of my women strip her here”.

The issue garnered widespread attention resulting in Ramsaran being relieved of his duties by Former President, Donald Ramotar.
