Appearing in the Springlands Magistrate Court before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh was Terani Goolcharran, age 26 to answer to the charge of Murder committed on Akeem Grimmond ,14 years of Number 61 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Goolcharran who is a construction worker of Number 60 Village, was not required to plead to the charge.
An unrepresented Goolsarran was remanded to prison and the case transferred to the Number 51 Magistrate Court for report on September 14, 2016.
14- year- old Akeem Grimmond was found in a drain face down, not too far from the Number 61 Village burial ground. His body was discovered by a Community Policing Group Patrol.
A post mortem was conducted and revealed that the lad died of suffocation.
Terani Goolsarran was suspected by Grimmond’s step- father, Ryan Persaud and it was also revealed by the Commander that Goolsarran confessed to his wife that he killed Grimmond the said night he went missing.
