On Thursday, September 01, 2016, the RDC hosted the activity aimed at giving back to the community, specifically the elderly who over the years contributed significantly to the development of the region.
150 citizens benefitted from the Initiative on Thursday.
The initiative is in its third year. Previous years, the RDC provided meals for elders at Weldaad and Fort Wellington WCB.
Individuals told News Room that they are very appreciative of the initiative and are looking forward to others in the future.
Meanwhile, the RDC Education Month activities will continue with a face the community meeting, a reading tent where several books about the region and interesting places will be available, a coin drive, a stakeholders forum, a dialogue fest and various competitions including essays, ballroom dance, drama and puppetry.
Education Month is being celebrated countrywide under the theme “Each child matters, stakeholders unite for the enhancement of education”.
