Two males arrested in connection to robbery and shooting of Essequibo man

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force with the assistance of members of the Public this morning arrested two males who allegedly robbed and shot an Essequibo resident.

Enquiries disclosed that Dale Hercules of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, was entering his yard about 03:00hrs this morning when he was confronted by two masked men, one armed with a handgun, who relieved him of his jewellery .

During the process, the gunman shot the victim in his abdomen and escaped.

The victim was rushed to the Suddie Hospital where he is admitted a patient. His condition is regarded as stable.

Acting on information received, two suspects were arrested with an unlicensed handgun and eleven rounds, along with the stolen articles, on board a vessel at Supenaam and Parika respectively.
