One seriously injured following three vehicular accident on Nigg Public Road, Berbice

A three vehicular accident, which occurred a few minutes ago along the Nigg Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice has left one person seriously injured and another nursing minor injuries.

According to information gathered, Dauren Deonarine, driver of a black Toyota Starlet was on his way to take part in a television program, when he stopped along the Nigg Public Road to give way to a truck exiting a street.

The driver of a Toyota Premio Hire Car  6492 also slowed up behind Deonarine’s Starlet when a vehicle bearing number plate GFF 1875 slammed into the Premio, causing the Starlet to receive a hit to the back bumper.

News Room understands that the passenger in the Toyota Premio sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital but was transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Starlet received minor injuries to  the head. He was treated and sent away.

There are reports that the driver of the speeding vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. He is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
