A fire erupted in the transmission room of Hits and Jams Studio located at Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, following a short period of lightning and thunder this morning.

According to one of the Directors of Hits and Jams, Kerwin Bollers, the lightning struck the tower and caused a surge in the transmission room.
This led to the electrical wires inside the transmission room igniting.
However, employees quickly doused the flames using a fire extinguisher.
“We are trying to assess it to see pretty much, what and what damage and what can be replaced,” he told media operatives.
The entity’s radio station, 94.1 Boom FM and Television Channel, HJTV is currently off air.
