Left-arm spinner Kassim Khan produced a brilliant spell to hand Lower Corentyne a huge win over Upper Corentyne on the final day of the third round match in the Guyana Cricket Board’s Jaguars Franchise League Three-day tournament.

With the win, Lower Corentyne strengthened their lead at the top of the points table, while Upper Corentyne remain in the cellar position following another defeat.

Below are the summarised scores from the games.

At the Port Mourant ground, overnight rain forced a three-hour delay with the home team Upper Corentyne resuming the day on 25-2 requiring a further 123 for victory against tournament leaders Lower Corentyne.

However, former Guyana Under-19 left-arm spinner Kassim Khan produced a wonderful spell of spin bowling to claim 6-23 as Upper Corentyne folded for 114, chasing 148 for victory. Joshua Ramsammy was the only batsman to offer any resistance with a patient 44. Sharaz Ramsarran also had 2-37, bowling for Lower Corentyne.

At the GCC ground, Bourda, early morning showers forced play to be called off at 14:05h. Georgetown had reached 63-3 after dismissing East Coast Demerara for 148 on day two.

At Everest, play between Essequibo and Upper Demerara/East Demerara was called off at 11:35h after early morning showers.
