Former Health Minister, Dr. Bheri Ramsaran once again failed to appear at the Whim Magistrates Court on Monday to answer to a charge of using insulting language towards a Women’s Rights Activist.

Ramsaran is appearing before Magistrate, Charlene Artiga for using insulting language towards Women’s Rights Activist, Sherlina Nageer. on Monday, April 20, 2015, while outside the Whim Magistrate’s Court.

However, Artiga was also absent as she was scheduled to attend a conference in Georgetown.

Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh who presided at the Whim Magistrates Court today adjourned the matter until September 26, 2016.

The case was previously postponed on August 25, 2016, due to a sudden illness to which the Former Minister submitted a medical certificate to the court.

When the case was called on the first occasion, Ramsaran’s lawyers had moved to the high court to have the matter thrown out.

The lawyers had stated that after perusing the documents their client is convinced that the prosecution has not gathered enough information for the charge based on the statements that were supplied to the defence.

    However, that matter was dismissed.
