Local Toastmasters to participate at conference in Curacao
Toastmasters International recently held a contest to select the best speakers to represent Guyana at the upcoming District 81 Conference slated for October 21- 23 in Curacao.
A total of four persons competed in each category; Humorous and Evaluation, at the national level which was held on September 10 at the Bank of Guyana.
Ultimately the national winners were Mizana Gonsalves for the Humorous category and Tamika Henry for Evaluation.
Guyana is part of District 81, Division F which is made up Toastmasters clubs across the Caribbean. The clubs in Guyana are further divided into two Areas as follows:

Unicomer Pacesetters (Courts)
DigiExtraordinaires (Digicel)

To determine the national contest winners, each club first has an in-club contest. Then the winners of club contests compete at Area Contests to determine who will go to the finals.
The Area 38 Contest was held on September 5. The winners who moved on to the finals were:
