East Ruimveldt man arrested for shooting outside Rio Nightclub

An East Ruimveldt man was last evening arrested for the deadly shooting outside the Rio Nightclub on the morning of Monday, September 26, 2016.

According to a reliable police source, a 21-year-old East Ruimveldt man was arrested by patrol at Stabroek Georgetown and is in custody assisting the police with their investigations.

On Monday, 18-year-old Ryan Sergeant, of North Ruimveldt died of gunshot wounds, following a shooting incident in front of the Rio Inn Night Club, Queenstown, at about 2:30 hours.

A police report had stated that CCTV footage was obtained from the nightclub and investigators were informed of the possible suspects who were involved in an altercation, prior to rounds being discharged.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken recently said that investigators from his division are staking out some locations in and around Georgetown, in an effort to apprehend suspects.
