    By Leroy Smith

The Twin Engine Cessna Aircraft with the fake United States Registration number N767Z has been flown to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Timehri.

Engineers of the Guyana Defence Force Air Corps and pilots repaired and flew the aircraft from Yupukari to Lethem on Friday afternoon and this morning it was flown from Lethem to Timehri.

Sources close to the investigation told the News Room that the aircraft was flown to the country’s main airport early on Saturday morning and is being housed near the Guyana Defence Force Hanger at Timehri.

The illegal Cessna Conquest II was found at the Yupukari Airstrip, Region 9 in the early part of September. That prompted President David Granger to establish a Commission of Inquiry into the discovery.

The Commission is being headed by Former Head of the Guyana Defence Force Edward Collins.

Prior to the appointment of Collins to head the investigation, the Guyana Defence Force, Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority had initially commenced a probe into the presence of the aircraft on Guyana’s soil.
