Police hunting for woman who set child father’s house on fire

The Police in ‘B’ Division are hunting for a woman who disappeared after allegedly setting a house ablaze on October 02, 2016. Reports are that the woman was seen entering the house where her ex-husband resides without his permission, shortly before the fire occur.

 

The building belongs to 50-year-old cattle and rice farmer, Tejpaul Seecharran of Golden Fleece Village, West Coast Berbice who is now counting his losses after the fire which is believed to be set by his employee, Elton Bacchus’s child mother, completely destroyed his one flat, three-bedroom wooden house.

 

This publication was informed that the house was being occupied by Bacchus for some time, however, he was not at the building at the time of the fire which started at about 22:00 hours.

 

However, neighbours disclosed that they saw Bacchus’s child mother whose name was given as Sharon Balu, breaking the padlock to gain entry to the building and shortly after the entire building was seen engulfed in flames.

 

The firefighters from the Onverwaght Fire Service were summoned to the scene but by then the entire building was completely destroyed. Efforts were made to get in contact with the female suspect but the police came up empty handed.

 

The police are continuing their investigations.
