Senior Cop involved in fatal accident

Divisional Detective of the police ‘D’ Division is the subject of an ongoing investigation following a fatal accident on Tuesday.

The News Room was informed that Assistant Superintendent, Jermaine Grant who serves as the crime officer for the West Demerara area on Tuesday struck down a pensioner who eventually died.

Commander of the Division, Leslie James confirmed the accident, stating that while all the facts are not immediately available, the initial report suggested that the police was driving his personal vehicle in the Vreed-en-Hoop area when it came into contact with the 65-year-old woman.
