BREAKING NEWS: Taxi driver murdered by passenger

A taxi driver was this evening shot and killed at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

The News Room was able to confirm that the taxi driver who works at the head of the Tuschen Public road, East Bank Essequibo, was hired by two young men who requested to be taken into the village.

It was while taking the young men to their would-be destination that the taxi driver was attacked. He was reportedly shot twice and died on the spot.

The young man Rolan Joodie called ‘Vishal’ who is said to be around the age of 24 was later rushed to the Lenora Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Detectives are not yet clear on the motive for the shooting.

‘Vishal’ left to mourn, his wife of four years, their two year old son and other relatives and friends.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
