Businessman robbed at Gunpoint in Vryman’s Erven, New Amsterdam

A businessman of Vryman’s Erven New Amsterdam, Berbice was last evening robbed at gunpoint by a lone gunman.

According to the acting Commander of ‘B’ Division, the robbery took place at 22:30 hrs.

Albert DeNobrega was reportedly in the front of his yard when the unmasked gunman approached him demanding his cash and valuables.

According to information received, DeNobrega fearful for his life handed over $4,000 and his bank card which he had in his possession at the time. The perpetrator after receiving very little escaped on his bicycle.

The Acting Commander said the businessman related to the police that he would be able to identify the robber.

Arrests have not been made but investigations continue.
