N.A woman in serious condition after being struck by female partner

A Bermine Scheme, New Amsterdam woman is now a patient at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after being hit to the head with a glass bottle by another female on Saturday, October 08, 2016.

News Room understands that 24-year-old Annalisa Henry had indicated her interest in ending a relationship she had with the suspect whose name was given as 31-year-old Rushana Hunt when the incident occurred.

According to information received, at about 15:00 hours on the day of the incident, the victim and the accused were at a mall on Main Street, New Amsterdam consuming beers during which Henry revealed to Hunt that she was having a relationship with a male.

Hunt became annoyed and started abusing the victim and later struck her to the head with a glass bottle.

News Room understands that Henry was picked up in a semi-conscious state and rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where she is said to be in a serious condition.

The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested and is in police custody pending charges.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
